Madame Calve, the famous operatic singer, has been ordered to pay the impressario £480, as damages for her having lost her temper and grossly insulted the tenor during a performance at the Royal Opera House, Dresden. The King of Saxony, who was present, was shocked at the incident and left the theatre. He has forbidden madame's reappearance at the theatre.
