THE ZULU REBELLION.
~ CAPTAIN MACEARLANE'S DEATH. ACCIDENTALLY SHOT. By Telegraph.—Press Association.— London, September 17. The Daily Mail's Durban correspondent says that Captain Macfarlane, who was killed in the Zulu rebellion in June last, was accidentally shot by a bullet fired by a colonial on the other side of the gorge which separated them.
Lieutenant Marsden, of Royston's Horse, who was" mortally wounded on the same occasion in a mist and semi-darkness, was mistaken for a rebel and shot.
Captain Macfarlane was a trooper of the -fcirst feouht African Contingent, with which lie served for two years. He was given a commission and the Distinguished Service tJrdor.
