FIRE AT HAWERA:
[by TELEGRAPH. association.] "■' .Hawera, Saturday. The residence of Mr. F. McGuire, late M.H.R. for Hawera, narrowly escaped destruction by fire yesterday. A fire was discovered in a passage, and was extinguished there, but subsequently it was found the flames had spread to the roof, and only after strenuous efforts on the part of Mr. McGuire and his family was the building saved.
