Matteks in the betting market in connection with the Auckland Cup remain pretty much' in the same state as previously reported. Siege Gun remains firm at 6to 4, but ho money is being invested on him at that price. .: The Shannon was backed pretty freely during yesterday at Bto 1. On the double—Cup and Railway Handicap Siege Gun and Pallas is quoted at Bto 1. The Shannon'; was supported ; respectively with Pallas, Hohoro, Wairiki, and Orloff.
