THE STOKE CASES.

[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Monday. The trial of Brothers Kilian and Wybertus on the charge of having assaulted several lads, ex-inmates of the Stoke Industrial School, began at the Supreme Court today. The case of Brother Kilinn was taken first. Messrs. Bell and Myers conducted the prosecution, and Messrs. Skerrett, Wilford, and Fell appeared for the defence. Mr. Skerrett made a preliminary application that all the cases be taken together. After argument the Judge took time to consult his brother judges, as his decision on the matter would not be open to review. The case was accordingly adjourned till Wednesday, and Kilian was admitted to bail in a personal bond of £100.
