AUCKLAND AMATEUR OPERA CLUB.
The interest manifested in the "Dorothy" season by the Auckland Amateur Opera Club, is still unabated, for another crowded audience witnessed the performance last night, and amply testified their enjoyment by vociferous applause and frequent recalls of the principal vocalists, who wero recipients of numerous floral tributes for their successful vocal efforts. An agreeable surprise awaited the eight young ladies who danced the Bridesmaids' Ballet, at the close of which a shower of little boxos were thrown upon the stage, containing for each of the dancers a pretty brooch with amethyst pendants, which will doubtless be treasured as pleasant souvenirs of the triumphs scored by the performers, who well merit the enthusiasm they nightly create. The opera goes with vim and brightness from start to finish, the funny scenes between Lurcher and Priscilla provoking roars of laughter. The scenery and elaborate dressing are subjects of admiration from all who have witnessed them. The season, which has been a most successful one, closes to-night, and the management elsewhere announce that there is no truth in the rumour which has gained currency that the club intend to extend the season. Those wishing to witness " Dorothy" aro thereforo offered their last opportunity at the Opera House this evening.
