INANIMATE PIGEON-SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIP.
THE final of the championship pigeon match was fired off on Saturday afternoon at the Onehunga Gun Club's grounds. Although the weather was very unfavourable remarkably good shooting was done. The new pavilion, which has lately been erected by the club, was of ' groat service, it being thronged with ladles, who enjoyed the sport, and dispensed' afternoon tea. The championship resulted in a win for Mr. F. Kelly, who scored 71 points out of a possible 90, just beating Mr. L. Suttio by one point. Mr. W. B. Suttio and Mr. C. Bell tied for third place, Mr. W. 1). Suttie eventually winning after firing off the tie. The scores of the two days' shooting are as follow:—
The conditions on the first (lay at the Northern Club's grounds were one point for a kill with either barrel (20 birds), and on Saturday at the Onehunga Club's ground three points for first barrel and two for second (30 birds).
