WAIKATO COUNTY COUNCIL.
[FROM oto own CORRESPONDENT. The usual monthly meeting of the above was held on Friday. Present: Messrs. A. Primrose (chairman), S. T. Seddon, W. H. Thomas, A. Furze, J. P. Bailey, and A. Mcßea. It was decided that in future the pile-driver must be taken and returned in good order by county contractors at theii own expense. The clerk stated that an amendment had been made in the assessment of the county for hospital contributions. The amount had been increased from £300 to £316 16s. Owing to tllo unavoidable absence of Mr. Gordon, the matter of ■ maintenance of bridges' was adjourned. It was arranged that the Model Farm Committee meet the chairman next sale day, and inspect the farm. They were empowered to take the necessary steps to I enforce compliance with the provisions of • the agreement with the occupiers. A slaugh- 1 tering license was granted to Mr. & J. Rogers. ' Tho clerk reported that the credit balance . of the Board with the bank was £311 2s 6d. out -of which:.accounts amounting : to. £154 lle'7d had tp be paid.
