DESTRUCTIVE FIRE AT DARGAVILLE.
[by telegraph,OWN CORRESPONDENT. Daiigaville, Monday. A FIRE occurred at Mr. R. A. Cook's store here shortly after seven o'clock on Saturday evening, in the show window. A good supply of water was handy, and many willing hands prevented the fire spreading. The kerosene lamp igniting the inflammable matter is supposed to be the cause of the outbreak. The stock was insured for £800 and the building for £150, in the National Insurance Company of New Zealand. The damage to the stock is estimated at £150, and to the building at £30.
