KLAER'S CIUCUS.
Judging from tho audiences which assemble to witness a circus whenever one comes along, there is a fascination about that
particular form of amusement which is quito irrosistible to human nature in both sexes find of all ages, for paterfamilias appears to take quito as much interest in tho show, if ho does not applaud with exactly the same gusto, as his youngest hopeful. Klaer's circus, which opened in the Agricultural Hall on Saturday night, was no exception to tho rule, and a largo number of spectators were present. Mastors Leslie and Walter St. Leon, described as the "Australian Nuggots," performed somo very difficult acrobatic feats, which were remarkably clover for such small children, and called forth a lob of applause. The next item was a balancing act by a young Japanese, T. Kadoma, and his performances were really marvellous. Lying on his back, ho balanced a barrel on his feet, spun it round, and wont through a series of foats with it that were quite new to an Auckland audience, and excited much wonder, Miss Alice's act on two barebacked horses, and thab of Mr. Walter St. Loon with his trained horse St. George were noatly performed, and the animals were excellent specimens of horseflesh. Mr. Charles Hogan's exploit of jumping on a galloping horse, Miss Amy's equestrian and tumbling acts, and tho juggling of Mr. J. Klaor were firabrato, and all combined to
make up a very successful and highlyappreciated programme. Funny Frisky, the clown, was true to his name, And rnado no end of genuine fun, with tho assistance of his fellow-clown "Dummy." The band, an important) adjunct, left nothing wanting in the musical parti, and altogether the show, though small, is a first-class one, and tho commondation the public favoured it with at the initial performance was well deserved.
