FATAL TRAMWAY ACCIDENT.

[BY TELEGRAPH,—Pit KBS ASSOCIATION,] Dunedin, Saturday. A shocking tram accident occurred last evening by which a countryman named William Martin lost his life in Princesstreeb, He was proceeding up the Princesstreet Incline, which the tramcar takes ab a hand gallop. As usual, there wore four horses abreasb in tho car, and a« the hoarding in front of the new Government Insurance Buildings drives people into the street, the railed pathway left being quite inadequate, the plaoo is very dangerous. Martin was knocked down by one of tho horses and disappeared under the tramcar. Before it could be pulled up the fronb wheels had passed over the man, terribly mutilating his face and legs. Ho was breathing when the car was lifted off him, bub died a few minutes later. Martin is a married man and lives ab Fairfiold, noar Groen Island,
