OHINEMURI CARTER'S PICNIC
[BY TELEGRAPn—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] I'airoa, Saturday. Tiie carters of Ohinemuri held bo-day their annual picnic; the affair taking the form of athletic sports and horse racing ab Maokaytown. The whole body of carters and waggoners meb with their dreys, spring carts, waggons, etc., in front of the Royal Mail Hotel, and headed by the Paoroa Brass Band went in procession no the scene of festivities. The procession was a fine spectacle, and would havedonohonourto any town, the horses and vohioles being gaily docked for the occasion, while the conveyances were crowded with holiday makers. Tho front waggon contained the officers and orew of p. 8. Paeroa.
