fBY TELEGRAPH.— OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Thames, Tuesday. A large stack of hay, the property of Mr. George Bedford, was destroyed by fire at Warahoe last night. The origin of the fire is unknown. The hay was insured in the Economic office for £18. Tho buildings, machinery, etc., lately the property of the Sylvia G.M. Co., at Tararu, were sold at public auction to-day, by Mr. R. R. McGregor, auctioneer. A good number of speculators were presont, and the whole plant was sold. The bulk of the machinery was purchased by Messrs. Price Bros., whilst the building was sold in sections, Messrs. C. Short, J. H. Smith, and James Brown being the purchasers Mr. Charles Judd bought the aerial tramWay, and Mr. J. H. Smith tho assay plant.
