NATIVE LAND COURT.
A sitting of this Court, presided over by Mi?. Seth Smith and. Mr. W. .Barton, Assessor, was held on the sth and 6th mat)., and concluded yesterday, to Consider an application lor the re hearing of certain succession orders to the interests of Totara 'Af.'awa; Te Tatinri : Atawa, and Paramana JS ganihi, in the famous Orakei block, near Auckland. The caw, fronj the value of tbe property, excited great interest : amongst the natives, a considerable number being in attendance at iche • Court. . Mr. Dufaur appeared in support of f.he application, and Mr. S. Hesketh in opposition to the same being granted. The evidence of Rere Arawa, Psora Kawharu, Watone Toatarl was taken 'in support of the application,' and Mr. Geo. Brown was beard in. opposition, r Mr. Hasketh addressed the Court at considerable length on behalf of,his clients. The Court, without calling ; upon Atr.' Dufaur to reply, gave judgment in favour of bis client, ana ordered-' that a re-hearing should take place. , '.T f ;
