HIKURANGI COAL COMPANY LIMITED.
I A meeting of the members of the Hikurangi Coal Mining Syndicate was. held yesterday at the office of Mr, OUfillan, jun., Insurance Buildings. Fourteen members of the syndicate were present, Mr. Adam Porter was voted to the chair. ' Infort mation as to the sale, of the syndicate i shares, showing that the whole of .them had been sold, bad been laid before the meeting, It was agreed to form a company, under the Companies' Act of 1882, the name of the Company to be the Hikurapgi. Coal Company, Limited, with a \ capital of £15,000, divided into 30,000 shares of 10s each, six hundred scrips paid Up to 6s each to be allotted, per syndicate snare, to the holders of such. The Bank of New Zealand was chosen ait the company's bank; Messrs. Whitaker and Russell as solicitors, and Mr. A. H. Gossett as auditor. The following were appointed directors of the new company: Messrs. S. T. George, F. Jagger, «J. McFarlane, E. Mitchelson, W. S. Wilson, A. Porter, and Capt. J as. Smith. Mr. Gilfillan, jun., was appointed secretary. t . : ' At a subsequent meeting of the Board of Directors, Mr. Adam Porter was elected Chairman of the Company, and Mr. T. P. Moody, M.E., as manager.
