PASTOR BIRCH.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — think Mrs. Aldis's remarks on Pastor Birch's teaching are very much out of place, especially coming from a woman, who, on such matters had better heed the Apostle's warning, and remain in silence. 1 listened to Pastor Birch for the first time last Sunday evening, and as the truth was pressed home by many apt illustrations my mind was carried back to scenes and faces familiar to me in the old country, many of which can never be recalled. I thought I'was sitting in some of the dear old churches again listening to such men as the Rev. Hay Aitken, Henry Moore, W. H. Haslam, and a host of other Church of England ministers who preach the same full salvation through Christ as Pasto&Birch does. Auckland has much reason to belfhankful in numbering amongst her ministers'such a man as Pastor Birch, who it personally unknown to me. Would there were more like him.—l am, &c., A Cambridge Graduate. Auckland, September 9,1891.
