J Island news by Linda Weber from Rarotonga states > that the warship Goldfinch was at Rarotonga when the Linda Weber left, and after cruising through the group with Mr. Moss, ; British resident at Rarotonga, was to leave a . few ' days . later for the New Hebrides. The ketch A warn a sailed on the sth instant; for Flint Island, and Penrhyn. The Jessie Niccol and Torea passed through the group, and the Vander bilt schooner was in harbour.; The Christine arrived from Auckland off the island on the morning of the 7th ult. The new schooner built by Mr. Short . was gaily decked with '.bunting•'ready,to be launched at high water, but the attempt did; nob succeed, and was postponed till later on. Mr. Gamier has charge of the bond, and is shipping master. Everything in Rarotonga! is in a flourishing state.
