JUDGES BAY REGATTA.

Of the many enjoyable aquatic fetes winch arc carried out in the port during the summer few are more popular or pleasant than the vearly sports of the Judge's Hay Amateur Ilegatta Club, which are fixed to take place on the 13fch prox. This year the committee lias somewhat extended the scope of its operations, and the programme comprises thirteen events, seven being rowing races, three sailing contests, and three swimming - ( 'in|)Ptitions. For all these large entries are promised, and steady practice has been indulged in for some time by intending competitors. The fine steamer Arawata has been kindly promised by the Union S.S. Company is a Heirship, and arrangements have been included for a convenient ferry service to "i'l from the wharf, while smart steam dunoh Despatch will convey visitors to and :r om Judged Bay. The co-operation of the Auckland Yacht Club, Bowing Association, Jn d Swimming Association has been secured ; while the following officials, to curry out the -nts, were chosen last eveningßowing faces: Starter, Mr. L. B. Wilson; judge, £''• 'I. M. Brigham; umpire, Mr. C. K ihotn is. .Sailing: Starter, Mr. J. B. J-ira-llat» ; judge, Mr. G. S. Killing. The committee is working hard, and subscriptions nave come to hand remarkably well, so that on good weather is required to make the S<ua a conspicuous success.
