THE DUNEDIN AGRICULTURAL SHOW.

[BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION*.] JDUNKDIN, Tuesday. Fine weather was experienced for the Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Show, but the day was devoted to judging. Not a great many attended. The quality of stock exhibited was very good, but the decrease in the entries and absence of a number of Oamarn and Christ'church breeders who usually exhibit, detracted somewhat from the interest. Messrs. Dean, Carforth, Menlove, Reid, and many others were conspicuous by their absence in classes where they usually show. In cattle, polled Angus and Ayrshire were well represented, an J the quality excellent, but in short horns there was a large falling off in exhibits, and the quality was fair. The N. Z. and A. L. Co. took both championships in horns, and for bulls in polled Angus, Wallis, of Southland, taking it for cow. A. and J. MeFarlane took the championship for cow, and Cowan took it for bull. Dairy and fat cattle were few in number. The latter, though smaller in size, were deemed to be quite equal in quality to former yean*. Clarke, of Timaru, took the prize for fat. rattle. In sheep there was also a falling eff in number, but the quality was fully maintained. In merinos there were no strong combing shown. Watson Sheens, took the championship for ram, and John Johnston for ewe. In John Reid, of Elderslie, took the championship for ram, and M. Crosbie, of Southland, for ewe. These with the Hon. Mr. Holmes and Little Brothers being the chief prize - takers. Some splendid Lincoln were shown,' but the N.Z. and A.L. Co., and Hon. M. Holmes were the only exhibitors, the former taking both championships. In Romney Marsh Jas. Fulton took championship for ram, and John Reid for ewo. lon. Mr. Holmes Obtained several seconds.. No Downs sheep were entered for competition, but some Shropshire Downs by W. Dobie were highly commended. The Hon. Mr. Holmes was the only exhibitor in Cheviots, taking two firsts. Two pens of fat sheep were entered by the Land Co., sach taking first award. There was a splendid show of implements.
