Wellington, Monday. m A man named Green, 68 years of age, is reported as missing from a village settlement near Pahiatua since Wednesday last. Timaru, Monday. At the Resident Magistrate's Court this morning a respectable settler was summoned for illegally cutting and removing timber from Crown land without a license. He had seen another person carting wood from the same place, and supposed the regulations forbidding it had been withdrawn or released. The Crown Lands Ranger estimated the value of the timber taken at £2 ss. The defendant was ordered to pay the value of the wood and costs, amounting to £11 6s. - ;; w
