McAffey Brothers have declined to tender for the irrigation of the block of land under the new Irrigation Act, in consequence of amendments to that measure made daring its passage through the Assembly. The monthly circular of the New Zealand Loan Agency Company state* that probably 13,000 to 14,000 tons of Victorian wheat will be available for export this season. The New Zealand Agency Company held their weekly sale yesterday in the presence of a full complement of buyers. The catalogue comprised 3023 bales, 28S1 being disposed of, making a total of 2881 bales during the week. The competition was animated. The market for greasy wool was firmer than last week, without, however, any material alteration in the price. Greasy wool sold up to 14d, washed fleece at 15d, and scoured 17£ d per lb. SYDNEY MARKETS. Sydney, December 17. New Zealand wheat is selling at 3a 10d per bushel ; New Zealand oats at 2s Id; maize, per 561b, at 3s 6d ; and the Sugar Company's No. 1 pieces at £25 per ton. Pollard is unsaleable at 9d per bushel. THE CORANGAMITE. Sydney, December 17. The wreck of the steamer Oorangamite, which was stranded in Jarvis'e Bay, has been sold for £700. THE ROTOMAHANA.
