THE WELLINGTON EXHIBITION.
[*Y TELEGRAPH. — PEESS ASSOCIATION.! Wellington, Friday. The Post to-night states that great dissatisfaction has been caused amongst the prizewinners at the recent Industrial Exhibition by the contemptible meanness shown by the authorities in regard to the prizes won by the principal exhibitors. It will be remembered that the exhibits were divided into five main divisions, in each of which a gold medal was offered for the best collection of exhibits. These gold medals were awarded to Messrs. Kitchen and Sons, the Goar Meatpreserving Company, Messrs. North and Scoular, Messrs. A. H. and T. Burtt, and Messrs. Hallensteinßrothers. A largenumber of classes were included in each division, and a first prize of a silver medal v.-as offered for each class. The parties named were each awarded a first prize in one or more of the classes, as well as the first prize in the division ; but, on applying for their medals, they have found that paper certificates have been substituted for the silver medals they are entitled to as first prize-takers in the various classes.
