THE MIDLAND RAILWAY.

[bt telegraph—press association.] Christchubch, Friday. Mr. C. C. Bowks has received advices from London re the Midland Railway, which show that all difficulties on the side of the company have been removed. At a meeting of the Midland Railway guarantors held to-day, Mr. Bowen read a fetter from Mr. Allan Scott, reporting the conclusion of the London delegates' business. The company is considered the strongest that has been formed for a long time. The engineers of the company in London are Mr. John Carruthers, late resident engineer-in-chief to the New Zealand Government, and Mr. Robert Wilson. The chief resident engineer in New Zealand is Mr. C. Napier 8011. Mr. Scott eulogises the valuable assistance given by the Agent-General in arranging the final matters of th 6 company, and recognises the able advice and assistance given by Messrs. A. Sclanderß and A. C. Fell, who ungrudgingly gave time and trouble to carry out this difficult and tedious business to a successful issue.
