AUCKLAND AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.
The adjourned annual meeting of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held yesterday at the offices of the Racing Club, in Durham-street. There were present: Mr. A. Buckland (in the chair), Messrs. A. Aitken, F. Lawry, C. Roberts, J. Bainbridge, J. Phillips, W. Dunwoodie, A. Anderson. J. Wills, J. Massey, jun,, R. Wallace, James Wallace, K. N. Ryburn, and George Hotham. The report and balancesheet, as already published in the Herald, were read and discussed, and the chairman pointed out that their debt was £300, and they had only £120 to pay it with. This was of course, outside of subscriptions, &o , due After considerable discussion the report and balance-sheet were adopted. The election of officers for the ensuing year w&s then proceeded with, and on the motion of Mr. Dunwoodie, seconded by Mr. James Wallace (Mangere), Mr. A. Buckland was elected president; and, on the motion of Mr. Lawry, seconded by Mr. Wallace, Mr. Bainbridge was elected vice-president and Mr. A. Anderson treasurer. The old committse were re-elected (with the exception of Mr. S. Morrin, deceased, at the loss of whom the chairman expressed the deepest regret, which expression was endorsed by the meeting), and Messrs. Ryburn, C. Roberts, Massey, James Wallace, Robert Wallace, and Weymouth were added. It was resolved to hold a ploughing match, under the auspices of the association, but in the present state of the finances it was not deemed desirable to take any of the funds for the purposes of prizes or other expenses. A committee, consisting of Messrs. Bainbridge, C- Roberts, A. Anderson, Rybarn, R. Wallace, and J. Wills, was appointed to make the necessary arrangements for the match. A subscription list was opened to wards the match, and £17 was collected from those present. Mr. Massey, jun., volunteered to supply the paddock for the ploughing.
