ADMIRAL TRY OS'S MOVEMENTS.
[by telegraph.—press association.] Wellington, Monday. It is now considered certain that neither Admiral Tryon nor hie ship will go South. At first it had been intended that the Hinemoa should bo placed at the disposal of the Admiral to visit the Southern ports, with, the view of inspecting the Southern defences, and also the West Coast sounds, but as the time of the Admiral in New Zealand waterß is limited, he is unable to make his intended visits. Tho meeting of Admiral Tryon, His Excellenoy the Governor, and the members of the Government, which was to have been held at Christohuroh, has been abandoned, and it will now take place in Wellington early next week. The Premier and the Hon. Mr. Larnaoh are expected at an early date, but it is unlikely that Sir Julius Vogel, who is at Waiwera, will be present. The reason ascribed to the change of programme is that Admiral Tryon is desirous to reach Hobart as early as possible in order to be present at the meeting of tho Federation Council. At the conference in Wellington, naval defence, the Federation Council, and Samoan affairs will be discussed. Another telegram says It had been de« cided that the meeting of Admiral Tryon and Hia Excellency the Governor and members of the Government will take place in Wellington on the 22nd inst. H.M.a. Nelson will leave Wellington for Hobart on the 24th inst.
