«. [BY TJELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Hokitika, Thursday. An oM man named McOullogh fell down an abandoned shaft at the paddock on Friday last. The shaft was 50 feet deep, and McCullu-(;h v«as not rescued until Tuesday, after being in more than four days. He is reported to be braised, but no bones are broken. Once he reached within twenty feet of the top of the shaft, but could get no further. His cries were heard by some children, who went to his rescue.
