Harbour/Bosr.i a'plan for : improving the bar entraaoe .by hydraulic sluicing— that is, by discharging powerful jets of water through nozzles on the sand, and the Board have . asked their .inspector of works to report on it. ' The Board have taken ike tug'boats over. They also to-day. carried the following resolution :—"Your committee; having carefully considered the Engineers plans and specifications of proposed workß at the Heads, and realising l the serious responsibility that is attached to the undertaking of such workp, have resolved to; recommend as follows: (1) That the plans and specifications be not in the meantime inter- ; fered with, but that their further consideration be left over till the Government report is received; (2) , that the Chairman be authorised to proceed to Wellington with the plans to, consalt with the Government.",
