ST. PATRICK'S DAY IN WAIKATO.

[FROM OCR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Hamilton, Tuesday. Friday next, St. Patrick's Day, will be a general holiday in Waikato. A regatta, horse racing, and athletic sports will be held at Ngaruawahia. At Kihikihi there will be a full day's horse racing, commencing at noon, when stakes to the amount of £30 and £40 will be competed for. In the athletic sports there are three flat races at 200, 300, and 400 yards, and a mile race, for all of which a large number of entries have been received. The concert and dramatic entertainment, which was to have taken place the same evening in aid of the Roman Catholic Church building fund, has been postponed. At Piako there will be a day's horse racing on the Morrinsville racecourse, at which it is expected a large number of local horses will compete, and the Roman Catholics of Cambridge will give their annual concert and ball in the Public and Volunteer Hall.
