GOVERNMENT LAND SALE.
A sale of portion of the confiscated lands in the Waikato district and the East Coast was held yesterday in the Government offices in tbc Supremo Court building. There wis a very large attendance, and for many of the lots there was a keen competition. The following lots were purchased :—Lot 4 Tauranga, W. The total amount realised by the sale is upwards of £4000, and the deposits actually paid amounted to £1403 10s 7d. Many of the lots brought far more than the upset price, and altogether the sals must be considered as highly satisfactory.
