AUCKLAND CATTLE MARKET.
JTR. ALFKED BUCKLAND'S WEEKLY BEPOET. At the Ilavmarket, on Saturday, tho sale of tlie commissariat horses occasioned a large attendance. Prices obtained varied from £7 6«. to £27 10a., the greater number bringing from £6 to £9. A smaller than usual supply of other horse stock met with a good nale, and best draught were in request, an unbroken oolt bringing £70, a 5-year old horse, staunch, £91, and a draught entire, £80. 78 horses were sold. At the Triangle, on Tuesday, 145 head cattle, principally young stock, from 10 to 20 months old, wore penned. There was a smaller attendance than usual; late prices were, however, sustained, and the bidding was free. The wethers, ex ' Corio,' from Jfapier, brought £1 9b. lOd. each. At Newmarket, on Thursday, there was an unusual supply of well-fatted cattle, and several stand over for the next salo. Prices for sfcoro cattle were from ss. to 15s. per head lower. Best fatted cattle 30s. to 40a. lower than previous week. Dairy cattle were of good quality, and oommanded late prices. The sheep market was "oarely supplied with stock, and prices for fat sheep and lambs were higher Is. to 3a. per head. Store sheep continuo in demand; ewes aud lambs brought 38s. the couple ; wethers, ex ISt llagnus,' 2Ss. each. 238 head of cattlo and 450 sheep and lambs were sold.

Saddle liacks'runged from £9 10n. to £20. , Fat cattle were' offering plentifully, and of good quality, without any perceptible alteration in the Rites from the previous week. Wo quote bullocks at £18 to £18; cows, £12 to £16 ; calves, £2 7s. 6d. to £3 12s. 6d. Tat sheep and lambs were scarce. Sheep sold at 325. 6d. to 345.; lambs, las. 6d. to 17s. Dairy anti Store Stock. —Dairy cattle were in good demand, and somo fair quality fetched satisfactory pricsa. We quote cows at £13 17a. 6d. to £17 10s. Store cattle were also in good demand, and large sales were effected, both at Otaliuhu on Tuesday and Sewmarket on Wednesday. The state of the weather was very unfavourable. We sold heifers at £7 to £10 ; bullocks, £9 10s. to £15 2b. Cd ; cows, £9 Ss. to £12 sa. Btore Sheep.—We sold two lots of ewes and lambs at prices ranging from 13s. Cd. to 18a. Fat Pigs.—We sold a lot at 625. each.
