AUCKLAND STOCK SHARE MARKET.

{ ME. n. s- iinpoaT. J! Eiiiireek has registefld a fair amount of business h tkf share market; aJnsiilerable firmness is oxhiatfcd,. and indications an alteration in current atcs,v?ljich must rulo ierJAninfluential held in the Odd Fellows' allbn Wednesday receive an explanation of

the objects contemplated by the promoter of the New Zealand Steam Navigation Company. It appears from the reports ofjtlie Wellington Steam Navigation Company (out of which tlio present undertaking has grown, auri amalgamated with Dunedin and the other Southern Steam Ship Companies,) that finding the business so profitable, and tlio increased requirements of the colony demanding it, they decided on extending its usefulness by forming one strong company for the whole of New Zealand, allotting a certain number of shares to each Provinco. 5000 shares at £10 per share, (10a. to be paid on application, £2 within fifteen days after allotment, and the balance by calls of £1 per share at intervals of not less than three months) is the number allowed for Auckland province, and judging from the numerous enquiries, aud tho number already applied for, it is questionable whether there will bo sufficient to meet the demand. No announcement hits yet been made of the last day for receiving applications, but it iB understood that the list will not remain open very long. Seeing that tho profits of tho last half year exceeded 30 per cent, it in only reasonable to expect, that with the increaso of tho capital and extension of business, an increaso eron Oil this large rate of profit might bo looked for by the aew Company. The success of the old Company is a guarantee for the soundness of the management and discretion of tho Directors in conducting its business.
