This afternoon Dr Grimes, Roman Catholic Biahop of Ohriatchurch, laid the foundation stone of a residence for the Mariat Brothers, four of whom take oharg* of the parish boy*' school. His
Lordship spoke briefly, promising to apeak more fully in the evening on the determination of Catholics to provide their children not merely with instruction but education, and tho present ceremony was ti practical protest ngainst tho materialistic, and godless, and selfBooking tendencies of tho century, and a pi oof of tho Catholic recognition of their duties to thoir children and society. Tho prcsenoo of so largo a concouiso was accepted as iui admission they were at all u\onts sincoro in their desire and intention. Upwards of L2000 were present, ( and over L150 were collected on tho ground.
