NEW PLYMOUTH. April 2.

Au urgent meeting of the Land Board, called at the request of the Government by telegram, was held this afternoon. The Government desire to offer a third of 15,000 acres of land on the Waimata Plains on deforced payments, the remaining two-thirds to be sold by auction for cash at Carlyle, on the 6th April, as land of special value, the upset price being L 5 per acre. The Government requested the Board to pass a resolution to the same effect as the particulars sent in the telegram, which was done, and the sale will be gazetted to-morrow.
