1.0.0 F, Lodge Notes

Last Tuesday evemng was a very special occasion for the local branches of the 1.0.0. F. as this maiked the first visit to Kaitaia of the Grand Secretary, Bro. Sligo ; also present was Bro. Forbes, Chief Patriarch of the Waitemata Encampment as a visitor to the Lodge. The Northern Star held a meeting first, Bro. L. Heaton being Noble Grand, but essential business only was dealt with and as soon as the Lodge closed the Koa Rebekah members and Northern Star members were introduced to the Grand Secretary, Bro. Sligo who gave a most interesting and instructive address on the history of the 1.0.0. F. since its inception in the United States of Amen ca until the present day. At the conclusion of his speech several niembei. took the opportunity of asking the visitor questions on Lodge matters and in every case Bro. Sligo gave full and satisfactory answers. At the close of the address, D.D. G.M. Bro. Michie's notion of a votr of thanks the applause gave an indication of the appreciation of members for the Grand Secretary’s address. Supper followed and after supper members had an opportunity to m?e‘ Bro. Sligo personally for an informal chat. Bro. Thompson v/on the Lodge competition.
