Firemen in Competition
TOMORROW’S DISPLAY Tomorrow on the Primary School grounds, from about t’.ie hour of 10 a.m., residents of Kaitaia, and probably many from the county, too, will see demonstrations of the art of modern fire fighting, when representatives of fire brigades of Northland meet in annual competition and demonstration. There will be no admission charge and all are exhorted to repair to that spot at some time of the day and s"u these worthy men in action for how many are there who really know to what heights the science of combating flames has arisen. Such work is necessarily that of a specialist, and many wearisome hours are put in to master all the intracacies of the game. will be present teams from Kaikohe, KawaMoerewa, as well atteams from bar own volunteer fire brigade. It would be a fine gesture if our residents went to the scene of operations at some time of the day and watched this display, and thus do their bit towards heartening these worthy fellows in their efforts. In the evening, the local brigadesinen will entertain the visitors as well as many local residents who have shown an interest in the Brigade and its work.
