Waiharara News

PATRIOTIC FUNCTION

An enjoyable evening was spent in the Waiharara Hall last Saturday evening. The function, which was organised by the local patriotic Committee in aid of the local patriotic funds, proved a successful one, there being a large attendance of dancers from far and near. Music for the dancing was played by the Posinkovich orchestra with extras by Mrs. R. Stitt and members of the Air Force which were particularly attractive. During the evening the M.C., Mr. Millie Srlioj, thanked members of the Air Force for the various ways they had helped in connection w ith the district’s patriotic effort and especially the Air Force Chef who had made a cake which he gave the Committee. This generous gift helped to swell the funds considerably. Winners of novelty events were : monte carlo—Miss Bell Hadfield and partner. The R.N.Z.A.F. Cake competition was won by Mick Katavich jnr. After the supper interval dancing was continued until midnight.
