The Church of England services for Sunday will be:—Kaitaia 8 a.m. H.C., II a.m. Morning Prayer, and 8.30 p.m. Evening Prayer; Awanui 8.30 p.m. Evening Prayer; Aurere II a.m. H.C; Oruru 2.30 p.m; Mangonui 8 p.m. Evening Prayer. Presbyterian services for next Sunday will he;—Kaitaia II a.m. and 8.30 p.m; Awanui 2 p.m. Evening subject: “The Conditions ot Enduring Peace.” Men’s Flannel Trousers in grey and fawns, at Noble’s. When discussing the matter of painting at the A. & P. Executive meeting on,Monday evening Mr W Geard said you might get milk or anything in your paint: I’ll guarantee that there are more houses and hospitals painted with kerosene than with any-, thingelse. All those who attended went away quite convince 1 that it is a much easier and cooler proposition to cook with the New Perfection Oil Stoves than with the usual wood or coal range. At the Kaitaia Cricket Club 500 drive held last evening In the Library hall, the first prize winners were Mrs Watts and Mr P. Glynan; Consolation Miss Ford •nd H Wilkinson.

Armistice Day is to be celebrated this year at Fairburn as usual with a picnic. The Rev R. H. Johnson will be the speaker on the day (Friday next), and a cordial invitation is extended to all who desire to be present. Bell & Matthews (as agents for J. C. Hutton, N.Z., Ltd.) notify that they are now prepared to receive prime baconers from 120 to 150 lbs. Clients please advise so that shipping space may be arranged. The petitioners say they desire the free arid unhampered ‘right to deal with the products of their labours to the best advantage according to their own understanding.
