AWANUI.
(From our own Correspondent.) A pionio and sports in connection with the Awanui distriot sohool was held on Sat., 27th ulto., in Mr. Claudet’s paddock, kindly given for the occasion. The toys, which were hung upon a tree, were presented by Messrs. Evans and Sons; the Committee obtained about 40 books for competition iu the various races, which were presented to the successful ones by the Chairman, Mr. Dylans. Everything is being done to make the concert in aid of the Hospital a great success. A surprise social and danoe was given to Mr. Claudet last week.
