FAIRBURN.

(From our own Correspondent.) The soiree in connection with the Church Anniversary took plaoe on Saturday evening and was very largely attended, the weather being perfect. About two hundred people sat down to tea, the tables being tastefully arranged aud laden with appetising refreshments. After teg was over the oonoert programme was gone through before an appreciative audience. The following were the items, Mr. Kendon presiding : Organ solo, Miss Sefton. Reoitation, Mr. T. Shearman. Duet, Misses Alice and Bertha Whitehead. Cornell solo, Mr. Percy Shearman. Song, Miss Buttress. Recitation, Miss Denny. Song, Mr. H. Foster. Reoitation, Mr. Gordon Wallaoo. Cornet duet, Messrs. A. Stevens and P. Shearman. Reoitation,.Mr. W. G. Prosser. Anniversary services were held at eleven and half-past two on Sunday by Mr. Kendon, when the Churoh was paoked, many coming from leng distances. The Cburoh will benefit to the extent of about ten pounds by the aanivereary services and soiree. The total prooeeds go into tho funds of tho Fairburn Churoh and will be devoted to improvements.
