WEATHER FORECAST
OVERCAST WITH FURTHER RAIN Wellington, This Day. Situation: A depression centred west of Nelson is filling. An anticyclone is south of the South Island. Forecast to 5 p.m, Wednesday: Fresh to strong easterly winds decreasing, weather -overcast with further rain but gradually improving to-morrow, temperatures moderate. Further outlook: Probably becoming fair. Last, night was stormy with a strong gusty wind which tore leaves, twigs and weak branches from trees throughout the city. The Church Hill this morning was littered with small branches, leaves and bark stripped from the bluegum trees. The rainfall in sharp wind-driven showers amounted to .65 of an Inch. Though the sky early this morning showed patches of blue between black stormy cloudy, it later became completely overcast again, and rain fe* intermittently during the day.
