The attitude of tli#» Churches in Now Zealand toward the treatment of enemy aliens is the subject of the following statement issued last night by the InterChurch Council on Public Affairs:— "The council welcomes the Prime Minister's recent statement in connection with tolerant treatment of minorities, and appeals to the people of New Zealand to exercise toward all men, including those who have sought refuge in 0.. r Dominion from persecution and political tyranny, that spirit of tolerance and charity which is vital to the Christian faith on which our democracy is based.”
