Mr R. E. Sissons, who has been Chief Postmaster at Nelson since April, 1944, has been promoted to the position of Chief Postmaster at Whangarei. The new appointment dates from Ist October. The successor to Mr Sissons in Nelson has not yet been announced.

Mr J. Corder, chairman of the Waimea County Council, has been elected to the executive of the New Zealand Counties’ Association to represent the ward area which includes the Takaka. Collingwood, Murchison, Waimea, Marlborough, Awatere and Kaikoura counties.
