WEDDING OF INTEREST

M.P. AND PRIVATE SECRETARY A wedding of considerable parliamentary interest took place on Saturday afternoon, when Miss H. D. Montague, formerly private secretary to the late Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates and until a few days ago private secretary to the Minister of Armed Forces and War Co-ordination (Mr Perry), was married at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul by the Rev. Canon D. J. Davies to Mr John Norman Massey, of Pukekohe, M.P. for Franklin and son of the late Rt. Hon. and Mrs W. F.- Massey. The bride was given away by the Minister In Charge of War Expenditure (Mr Hamilton). Mr G. C. Leighton was best man, and Mrs Ellen Waugh matron of honour.

The reception at the Hotel Waterloo was attended by both Mr Perry and Mr Hamilton, and Mrs William Russell was hostess. Mr Hamilton brought the couple the best wishes of the Prime Minister (Mr Fraser) and ther members of War Cabinet, which had met that afternoon.

Mr and Mrs Massey left ’ater for Nelson.
