WARTIME CONTROLS

RELAXED AND REVOKED MANY TO GO IN AUSTRALIA Canberra, August 2. A wholesale relaxation of wartime controls has been announced by the Minister cf Post-war Reconstruction, Mr Dcdman. The controls affected, he said, were among those exercised by the three big Departments of Post-war Reconstruction. Supply and Shipping, and Navy. In addition, between 30 and 40 controls in six other Departments will be revoked immediately, though they will not be announced before the end of the month. The list of controls relaxed includes: Regulation 84 dealing with banking, also regulations controlling manufacture of glass and fishing gear, the restriction on Christmas, New Year and Easter advertising, manufacture of baby carriages, control of cleaning agents, control of radio service and refrigerator service, restriction of pastrycooks’ goods (N.S.W.), manufacture of toys, and control of liquor (this eliminates the restrictions on advertisements of liquor). The Shipping and Supply Department easements include: Substitute Fuels Regulations. Gas Producer Regulations, Liquid Fuel Bulk Supply Regulations. Aliens Employment Order, Control of Motorcycle Sparc Parts, and control of Cleaning Materials.
