Annoyed because her daughter had not been selected for the ballet in the musical comedy Katinka. Catherine Genevieve Geraldine Burtyl, aged 45. widow, used a bag of eggs as-a weapon when she struck Arthur Gladstone Brown, chairman of the Auckland Amateur Operatic Society, across the face. The incident occurred in Brown’s office on 17th July. In the Police Court this morning Burtyl was fined £2 by the Magistrate , Mr Luxford. for assault.
