W.D.F.U.

WAKEFIELD-SPRING GROVE BRANCH The monthly meeting of the Wake-field-Spring Grove branch of the W.D.F.U., at which Mrs Nuttall presided, was held at the residence of Mrs O. Currin, Wakefield. Owing to many members being engaged in seasonal work it was deemed advisable to hold the meeting on the evening of the usual day and as a result there was a very good attendance. Much business was dealt with including the fixation of the date for the annual general meeting which is to be held at Wakefield on 26th April; the presentation of Mrs Bird’s report on the last executive meeting and detailed arrangements in connection with the catering at the Waimea dog trials. Donations were handed in and further gifts solicited for the stall to be held in conjunction with the luncheon booth at the latter functions.

The results of competitions were as follows: Apron made from an old frock, Mrs Nuttall 1, Mrs R. Palmer 2; best bloom, Mrs R. Palmer 1 and 2 equal.
