ANTI-TRUST SUIT

BRITISH AND U.S. COMPANIES HIGH PERSONAGES INVOLVED New York, Jan. 6. An anti-trust suit involving high personages in British political and industrial circles Will be filed in New York to-morrow by the Department of Justice says the “New York Times” Washington correspondent. He asserts that Imperial Chemical Industries, Limited, has a cartel agreement with the American Dupont de Nemours Company to divide up the world markets of certain chemical products. The correspondent recalls that Lord Strabolgi in July demanded that the House of Lords investigate Imperial Chemical Industries whose head, Lord McGowan, defended the cartel system of corporate foreign trade agreements as the backbone of the chemical industry. Informed circles are of the opinion that the present suit may be considered the United States’ answer to a question asked by many in Britain—will America insist on competition in the world markets after the war ?
