The first freight-carrying glider to fly the Atlantic has reached Britain from Canada. It was towed across by an aircraft of R.A.F. Transport Command. Picture was taken at a Canadian base before the start and shows the glider drawn back for freight loading for the first flight from Canada to Britain. The large wing span (84ft) of the C.G. 4A trans-Atlantic freight-carrying glider is apparent and also her hinged nose.
