ST. JOHN'S METHODIST CHURCH
WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP OFFICERS A comprehensive survey of the activities of the last year was given in the report presented to the Bth annual meeting of the St. John’s Methodist Women’s Fellowship held at the Parsonage, the Rev. C. Blair presiding. It was stated in the report that as a result of “Methodist Day” at the patriotic shop the sum of £lOl had been added to the patriotic funds of the city. This gratifying amount was due to the work of members of the Fellowship. During the year appreciative letters had been received from Methodist boys overseas, thanking members for parcels. The club had assisted in the duties attached to the Sunday teas for service men and women, which had proved very popular. As a result of a Paddy’s market organised by the Fellowship, £66 was handed to the Trust Funds to assist in renovating the Sunday School.
The election of officers resulted: President, Mrs C. Blair; vice presidents, Mesdames R. Leaper, B. Trathen, Kidson, and Miss J. Bennett; secretary, Mrs L. White; assistant secretary, Mrs S. Russell; treasurer, Mrs B. Trathen; deputy-treasurer, Mrs R. Leaper; pianist and programme, organiser, Mrs R. Blick; associate committee for programmes, Mrs P. Ingley and Mrs J. H. Millar; competitions, secretary, Mrs E. Froggat; visitors to sick, Mesdames Bridgeman, E. Jones and Pickwell; hostesses, Mesdames Coglin, Stevens, H. Savage, and B. Trathen. The monthly meeting was held in conjunction with the annua] meeting, after which afternoon tea'" was dispensed on the parsonage lawn. A ladies’ quartette sang several carols, which were much appreciated.
