HOMES FOR VISITING U.S. MARINES

(To the editor) Sir, —I wish to take this opportunity of thanking those residents who so willingly responded to my appeal for homes for visiting members'of the U.S. Marine Corps. Owing to the fact that the visitors were in pairs and expressed a wish to remain in or near to the City, it has not been possible so far to take advantage of the offer of homes in the country or of those homes where only one visitor could be accommodated. It is expected that another party will arrive in Nelson next week and I shall be glad if those who are willing to provide hospitality for two or more for a period of about seven days will advise the Town Clerk as soon as possible.— I am, etc., E. R. NEALE, Mayor.
